Memories of a past relationship, particularly with someone who is deceased or who has left your life permanently, will surface, triggered by current circumstances. You have been struggling vainly in 2021 to reconcile what happened, due to the Saturn-Uranus square, and you are finding it harder to accept this loss and move on than you did in previous years.
You are examining all of the significant relationships you’ve had over the course of your life so far. Try not to get morbid about it, though you seem compelled to dive deeper into it, day by day. This Venus retrograde is especially hard on you, Cancer, as Venus and Pluto confront your natal Sun; which is to say, emotional ties and manipulative ploys by others put so much pressure on you that you must search for relief, for answers to your contradictory emotions. Like Gemini, you have a lot of heavy issues to work through so you can disentangle yourself from their cords.
You begin to view your family obligations – especially to your birth family – in a new and very different way. You can now see how you’ve given so much to have the security of their presence. As Jupiter is about to square the Moon’s Nodes as Venus goes retrograde, you question the wisdom of the sacrifices and life choices you’ve made. You may even feel you were used. It’s very hard for you to see this situation clearly, as you are heavily invested in the situation, maybe even to the point you’ve given your whole life to these people and their agendas. You are a natural caregiver, and it’s your nature to hold together the group you identify with, and to fight to protect them. To admit that this was not healthy or productive for you is akin to admitting that you are not loved, and that you wasted a portion of your life. Yet you love them, so however unfair it is, you can’t let go. It’s not so much that your identity is wrapped up in their lives and expectations, it’s that you love them and you want so much for them to love you.
From some of you, a death or great loss reveals financial entanglements that are not easy to work through and resolve. You seem to have a valid claim to some assets, but the other parties may try to dominate the process. Their behavior may shock or bewilder you, as you may have trusted these people in the past. You can expect confrontations around the Sun-Mars conjunction, from September 23 through October 23, and again from October 30 to November 19.
Your sign is ruled by the Moon, which reflects the light of the Sun, symbolic of your submission to the leadership of others. For you, submerging yourself into a group situation and drawing sustenance from it is a very worthy, almost holy, way to show your love for them. Now you realize that maybe some members of your group don’t value your input or sacrifices at all. Some Cancerians will be wracked with pain over this. For you, this Venus retrograde is the beginning of a long-term turning away from someone who has dominated your life.
Not all is lost, Cancer. The Venus-Mars-Pluto conjunction of March 2, 2022, falls in your seventh house of partnership, indicating the end of an era, and your shift into finding truly satisfying relationships. Some of you will have found such a relationship, and make a commitment at this time, especially if you were born between July 14 and July 21; if you do, it will be long lasting.
Regardless of whether you enter a new relationship or not in late February – early March 2022, this period is when you make a firm decision to assert yourself in all of your dealings with others, making sure that your needs and desires are a priority before you will let the relationship continue.
