Venus Retrograde 2021

Pisces

February 18 – March 19

Life hasn’t been much fun for Pisces since Saturn entered Aquarius in December 2020, and began its two and a half year movement through your twelfth house of solitude. And because the Saturn-Uranus square is the back story to this Venus retrograde period, you’ve been facing depression and challenges that are sapping your physical vitality and complicating your social life. Life feels heavy, and at the same time, as if you are floating, spinning in a whirlpool of mental confusion.

The danger for Pisces in this Venus retrograde period is that you might act desperately, as you attempt to fill the uneasy and undefinable void that you feel, due to Saturn in your twelfth house. You might interpret this feeling as loneliness, but that is only its surface manifestation. The true problem is more likely that you are super sensitive to others now, and yet you feel out of touch with others, so you might allow others to lead you around. You seem hungry for approval, and this could drive you to do regrettable things, due to the influence of heavy-handed Pluto.

During this Venus retrograde period, Venus and Pluto are in your eleventh house of hopes, wishes, friends, and professional associates. Due to its opposite house, the fifth, being the house of love affairs and creative ventures, there is an element of intense attraction on the part of others to you. Neptune has been moving through your sign for years, making you ethereally attractive to others, but also making you hard to pin down, and possibly attracting some shady and deceptive types to you. Now Jupiter is moving into Pisces for the first five months of next year, causing a spike in your glamor factor. But it may just make your relationships more muddled and dissatisfying, as neither you nor your suitors seem to be consistent in your ardor.

All of this is avoidable, but it’s not so easy for Pisces to exercise stern self-control, especially as you are very sociable and like luxury and idealistic environments. And as you feel weary and exhausted from almost two years of pandemic-related seriousness and isolation, Jupiter charging into your sign on December 29 makes you just want to go three sheets to the wind and have some fun!

If you’re one of those Pisces with substance abuse issues, this warning to crack down on yourself holds double. Resist the temptation to go on a bender, Pisces, for you could easily not just fall off the wagon, but get dragged along behind it. With Saturn moving into your sign as Jupiter conjoins Chiron, in March 2024, the long-term consequences will be severe, and quite sobering.

There are changes brewing in your domestic life. Situations rooted in jealousy or secrecy, most likely on the part of others, may disturb your relationships with a partner’s children, or with your own grandchildren. This demands adjustment, most likely on your part – not say that you are to blame, but that you are the one expected to make changes. This makes you feel alone in the world, isolated from those in your immediate surroundings, even though you are in their presence quite often. You want to feel acknowledged and appreciated by these people, but other tensions in their lives are distracting them, causing them to ignore you without fully realizing it.

As the Venus retrograde period ends at the end of January 2022, you will find it much easier to make new friends who compensate for the lack of response by relatives. Your social life will dramatically increase, along with opportunities for travel. Throughout February and March 2022, you will also have an opportunity to get to know people in your community.

In February and March 2022, your relationship with your boss is slightly off, as you receive recognition, or even a new position, which blurs the line between your responsibilities and those of your boss. You may sense competitiveness or jealousy on their part, and it’s tricky trying to smooth the ruffled feathers and yet move forward with enthusiasm with your good fortune.

For some of you, issues from your partner’s past are being uncovered and stirring up change, upsetting the balance of power in your relationship. You are probably very uncomfortable with what you discover. Granted, these indiscretions seem to be in the past, but they generate intense ramifications for where the two of you – especially you – are now. If you are single, you should ask a lot of questions of any new love interest you may meet in the last half of 2021, in order to prevent regret down the road.

Infidelity by a partner or domineering behavior by others is part of Venus retrograde for some Pisces. This probably occurred the past, yet new information surfaces, or you may hear from an old flame or a relative in October 2021, which stirs up old feelings of anger. You don’t really welcome this blast from the past, as you still hurt over the situation, but they seem to have something they want to get off their chest. You may spend the Venus retrograde period working through this emotionally, even if the other person makes their appearance in October and then quickly moves on.

Much of what happens under this Venus retrograde is internal for you, and you aren’t willing to share your thoughts and feelings about sensitive matters with anyone, especially those who are triggering these feelings. You don’t want to return to the past; you want to pack it neatly in a suitcase and purposely leave it behind at the airport as you move on.

With Saturn in your twelfth house of solitude and decomposition, this process of letting go will continue for some time, but the events of October 2021 through January 2022 give you the determination to resolve the issue from your own perspective. You aren’t concerned about closure with the other person involved, as you have already accepted that they aren’t part of your life anymore. You may be challenged to forgive this person, but Saturn in your twelfth house makes you, not exactly hard-hearted, but very clear about your boundaries. So you may seem harsh to them, but you don’t care anymore as you did before. You aren’t holding resentment towards them, and even if you had been, you now find it is gone.

To you, the case is forgiven and closed – but not forgotten. You just don’t care anymore. The Venus-Mars-Pluto triple conjunction, at 27° Capricorn on March 2, is the final goodbye for you. And as it is accompanied by a New Moon conjunct Jupiter in Pisces, in your first house of personality on the same day, you will now have your hands full with new work projects, and may also receive rewards and recognition for past work well done!
